Holiday Time!

It's that time of year again when we pack up (taking most of our possessions), worry about the veg patch drying up (neighbours are not green-fingered), can't find the camera recharger/arm-bands/pic-nic blanket/right toy etc etc....  Yay, it's holiday time!!!  I am just in the process of deciding whether to take i) a dress I have n't worn in two years, ii) 7 pairs of shoes and iii) 5 jackets!  Why is this, please tell me I am not alone.  Anyway, happy holidays to all and see you in a week...

Recycling Jumpers!

I have been making tea cosies and using up my recycled jumper collection!  Sometimes I think, 'hmm, why did I cut that up....!'.

A Lovely Couple...

I had a really nice Etsy conversation with someone who wanted me to do a custom order of two of my little hanging people, one to look like her friend and the other her boyfriend.  This is the happy, hanging couple!  They are flying off on their honeymoon tomorrow, to Australia!!  Bon voyage...

Foxy!

Have had some orders for 'Fox Collars' recently, and have really enjoyed making them.  One is off to Australia, one to USA, one to Hove, and one to my glamourous friend Bella.  Need a picture of her in it really!

I heart Buttons...

Also in the post this morning, some lovely buttons for my work, the black and white wooden ones are from China, the multi-coloured ones are also wooden, and the blue square ones look a bit 80s to me!   Ohhh, I do love a good button...

Slightly in Love...

I am slightly in love with my new bag from ebay, it arrived from overseas this morning for a bargain £7.00, postage included!!  What's not to like...

Hello Girls!

Here are some more framed collage girls winging their way to Appendage in Brighton; more to follow...Bye Girls!

I 'Heart' Apples...

I know I am definitely not alone when I say just how much I love retro 'apple' images.  Or pears, or cherries; in fact fruit n' veg seem to have a special appeal in the designs of the 1950s/60s.  At the moment I am coveting a rather lovely and simple apple calico bag by www.janefoster.co.uk, I 'sniff' out apple/fruit/cherry print out-fits or my little girl, or boy.  Here are some 'apples' I found around my home, I just know there are more lurking...

Experimenting...

I have been adapting the tea cosy/cushion girl image, into a collage to sell framed.  I have had really positive feedback about the image, but quite understand not everyone will use a tea cosy (mad I know!).  This is my first attempt and has gone to Appendage in Brighton, we shall see.  Have a good weekend...

Todays Orders...

Spent some of the morning packing up todays orders to go out; it's hard when you are a small business (with a family) to allow for packing/emails/marketing.  When you have limited time you just feel you need to be producing stuff!  That is why I am training my little boy up with sellotape dispenser and folding, we've a long way to go yet!  Anyway, off now to post office, hope I don't get 'blown' into a coffee shop on the way...

Clogs & Aprons!

Ahh, the exciting sound of the door bell in the middle of the day!!  It can only mean one thing, Ebay, Etsy or Amazon deliveries, yay.  I was very excited today when I recieved two parcels; a gorgeous pair of Lotta from Stockholm clogs, I have been wanting for ages, and a little apron, to add to my collection, from Ebay and a mere 99p...

Fabric Remnants...

I am very pleased to say I have very little waste from my making, I can usually re-use most fabrics.  The very little pieces I am left with go to my little boys school for art and craft.  The bits I am left with that are slightly bigger I use to make little egg cosies, curious things but every house should have them!!  These are some I  made over the weekend, and it struck me they looked a little like the characters in two of my favourite vintage books.  'Madeline' by Ludwig Bemelmans, and the 'Lovers' by the brilliant Raymond Peynet.  I have been collecting Peynet books for nearly 10 years now, and often wish I could just 'jump' into one of his pictures...
